Artist's Description
I've been wanting to shoot the 1225 Pere Marquette since I rode it a couple of years ago. Finally with the first snow predicted for the weekend I planned to go shoot this monster. The roads ended up being horrible that day and it took a lot longer to get there than I had anticipated. Luckily I had already picked which crossing I was going to shoot from and already had my camera settings somewhat set. Upon getting there I had about five minutes before I could hear the trains horn and the chugging. I then in the distance could see the huge plumes of smoke and steam, it looked incredible. As it approached I was able to capture this shot as it chugged on by.

Hi, I've been in photography most of my life since I was fourteen when I shot film. I switched to digital back in 2009 and am amazed at the changes since then. In June 2020 I was chosen by the DNR of Michigan to be an ambassador for the State Parks of Michigan showcasing them through my images.
