Artist's Description
This shot was taken in March of 2012 and the background made for an awesome shot of the lighthouse. Big Sable is one of only a few lighthouses in Michigan that actually reach the one hundred foot mark, Big sable is 112 feet tall. To reach this lighthouse you have to hike back along Lake Michigan from Ludington State Park, 1.6 miles there and 1.6 miles back. It is well worth it.

Hi, I've been in photography most of my life since I was fourteen when I shot film. I switched to digital back in 2009 and am amazed at the changes since then. In June 2020 I was chosen by the DNR of Michigan to be an ambassador for the State Parks of Michigan showcasing them through my images.
